DAVID ZAREK

Since 1985, David has practiced almost exclusively in the insurance law field.

In 2021 and 2023, David was recognized as Lawyer of the Year in Insurance Law in Toronto. David has been selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in Canada list since 2015, in the areas of Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation.

David practices mainly in the areas of third party tort motor vehicle claims, health law and class actions, special investigation claims, product liability and commercial liability claims, along with regularly providing coverage opinions in these same areas.

David appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in 2005 and has regularly appeared in the Court of Appeal and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on both jury and non-jury matters. He has argued numerous complex cases, including cases on negligent entrustment and rescue law. He is a chair of the firm’s Health Law and Coverage practice groups.

Some have said that having watched David play golf, it is a good thing he is a pretty good litigator.
