Jeremy Shaw

Jeremy joined Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan as an articling student and returned on his call to the Bar in 2007. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 2006 after having completed his B.A. in Arts, with a concentration in English.

Jeremy gained experience during his articles on a number of insurance defence files and plaintiff files, including Tort, Accident Benefits, Liability, Property Damage, Subrogation Claims, first party insurer disputes and Highway Traffic Act charges. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court, Ontario Court of Justice, Youth Court, and Ontario Small Claims court, before masters, Justices of the Peace and Judges. He has received experience in private arbitrations and FSCO.

Jeremy has published a number of articles in the OBA's Young Lawyers' Newsletters, providing case commentary as well as primers on the insurance regime.  Jeremy continues to attend and participate in continuing legal education courses, including but not limited to the Osgoode’s Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop.

Jeremy is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, Advocates Society and Canadian Defence Lawyers Association. Jeremy has sat on the executive of the Young Lawyers Division of the Ontario Bar Association since 2007, and is currently serving as the YLD’s co-Chair.  Jeremy also serves as a Toronto representative of the OBA’s Executive Counsel.  Jeremy has spearheaded the organization of the Elementary School Mock Trials run in conjunction with Law Day 2009 – 2011.
