What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to those who want it.

The ZTGH RSS Feed will deliver new developments in both law and the firm, including recent decisions, additions to our Private Arbitration Collection and upcoming events.

Why RSS? Benefits and Reasons for Using RSS

RSS allows you to easily stay informed with sites whose content changes on an unpredictable schedule. Repeatedly checking each website to see if there is any new content can be very tedious. An RSS Reader will retrieve the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually. There is no need to join each site’s email newsletter. RSS is a better way to be notified of new and changed content. Notifications of changes to multiple websites are handled easily, and the results are presented to you well organized and distinct from email.

What do I need to read an RSS Feed? RSS Feed Readers
and News Agregators

An RSS Reader is simply a web browser for RSS content. RSS aggregators check a series of RSS feeds for new items on an ongoing basis, making it possible to keep track of changes to multiple websites without needing to tediously read and re-read each of the sites yourself. They detect the addition of content and present them together for you in a compact and useful manner. If the title and description of an item are of interest, the link can be used to quickly bring the related web page up for reading. Many RSS Readers are available for free download. For demonstration purposes, we have used Feadreader.

Feedreader is a free RSS news aggregation tool that is intuitive and user-friendly. Once installed, it will check your subscribed feeds on start-up and will sit in your system tray, notifying you of new feeds as content is updated, putting the information you want right at your fingertips.

Adding the ZTGH RSS Feed to Feedreader

Once installed, from the toolbar menu go to file>new>feed. The feed location input box appears. [Click for screenshot]
To subscribe to the ZTGH RSS feed, type (case sensitive):

          http://www.ztgh.com/RSS/ZTGH_rss.xml

Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan LLP will now appear in your list of subscribed feeds in the left column of the Feedreader main menu. [Click for screenshot]

Feedreader will then display new or recent announcements in the display window. Selecting an announcement will display the title, a link to the content on the ZTGH website, and a short description of the updated content from the website. [Click for screenshot]

By clicking on the title of the displayed announcement, a preview of the content from the site will be displayed. Following the link within the announcement will bring you directly to the content on the ZTGH website. [Click for screenshot]
