Robert H. C. Barrett

Robert Barrett is a graduate of McGill University with Great Distinction. He earned an LL.B. at Osgoode Hall law school in 1984 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986. Robert has practiced exclusively in the area of insurance disputes since that time.

Robert commenced practicing law with the firm of Stanley M. Tick & Associates in Hamilton. In 1989 he was a founding partner in the law firm of Barrett, Cummins Seto. Robert later associated with the insurance defence group at Lobl Barristers with Rudy Lobl. He joined ZTGH in January of 2009 continuing to practice insurance defence litigation.

As trial counsel, Robert has prepared and argued cases before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He also appears as counsel before specialized tribunals including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and as counsel at private arbitrations involving insurance related disputes between insurers.

Outside of the practice of law, Robert has lectured on emerging law related topics to graduate students in Continuing Education at York University and to undergraduates at Ryerson University.
