Derek E. Wilson

Derek completed his LLB at the University of Alberta in 1993. Derek articled with the firm of Tick and Associates in Hamilton focusing heavily on insurance claims.

In 1996, Derek left Tick and Associates to pursue a Master of Laws degree, which degree he successfully obtained with Merit, from the London School of Economics. The Masters degree included a specialized focus on insurance.

In 1997, Derek joined Zarek Taylor Grossman Hanrahan LLP. He became a partner in 2003. Derek's practice is focussed primarily on casualty first and third party claims. Derek appears frequently before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He has conducted several arbitrations and appeals.

In addition he has conducted trials, and numerous mediations. Derek has a pragmatic and common sense approach to litigation and assists his clients in resolving complex matters.

He is a member of the Advocates Society and Hamilton Law Association.
